CPMC Cathedral Hill Construction: 5/26/15

The massive hole which was dug for CPMC’s Cathedral Hill Hospital is quickly being filled, with the steel framing and decking on the west side of the of the site along Franklin having already reached street-level and quickly spreading east towards Van Ness Avenue.

We’re still waiting for the official word on when the buildings across the Avenue will be razed, not including the Concordia-Argonaut Club nor the buildings behind, in order to clear the way for CPMC’s Medical Office Building. And once again, a redesign of the proposed development to rise at 1200 Van Ness, across from the Club on the corner, is underway.

CPMC’s Cathedral Hill campus is slated to open its doors in 2019.

  1. I assume they finished the tunnel under Van Ness to the new buildings? Guessing that they have it terminate just before the foundation/basement level of the existing structures.

      1. SF- good question, but I feel like if they can take the Central Subway beneath the Market Street Subway (concourse plus 2 levels of tracks) going beneath one pedestrian tunnel should not be a major hurdle. On the other hand, getting the SFMTA to get serious about things that aren’t bike lanes or BRT, that is gonna be tough. 😉

    1. Yeah, they just closed down the street for a weekend to do most of the tunnel about a month ago.

    1. Hopefully they fix the site. Right now it just gives: “PDOException: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’ (2) in lock_may_be_available() (line 167 of /home/cpmc/public_html/includes/lock.inc).”
