As we outlined at the end of last year, plans for converting the landmarked Health Sciences Library building on the southeast corner of Sacramento and Webster into a 24-unit luxury development, with a seven-story addition to the building’s east and a five-story addition to its south have been refined and the applications to secure a Density Bonus and Authorization to entitle the redevelopment were under review.
With an appeal of the proposed redevelopment having been rejected by San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors, the plans have now been entitled and an exemption from an additional environmental review secured.
But once again, “an application to secure building permits for the project, which is typically paralleled processed if the entitling team is planning to actually break ground, has yet to be submitted to Planning,” with the pipeline of entitled projects growing – and being banked – but the pace of building slowing down.
