Hidden behind a rather nondescript industrial façade at 933 Harrison Street, the “largest sex club in San Francisco,” the 6,000-square-foot Blow Buddies club, has operated for nearly 30 years.

And while the operators of the club would like to continue their business if possible, the building, which was purchased for $500,000 in 1993 is now back on the market with a $3.25 million price tag and marketing materials which tout the building’s excellent Central SoMa location, with easy freeway access in an area of “expanding Tech and Entertainment.”

Keep in mind that the parcel upon which the two-story club sits is only zoned for development up to 30 feet in height and is located within a “Service/Arts/Light Industrial (SALI) District,” a designation which is intended “to protect and facilitate the expansion of existing general commercial, manufacturing, home and business service, and light industrial activities, with an emphasis on preserving and expanding arts activities.”  And as such, new residential, office and hotel uses are not currently permitted to be developed on the site. But qualified affordable housing projects are permitted to be built.

      1. I think what NA is getting at is that if the business was truly thriving, the proprietors could have put enough profits aside over that quarter century period to buy the building when it was cheaper and avoid putting the club’s continued operation at this location in jeopardy. As it is, I think it’s safe to predict that the members of the club are going to get a notice soon of a substantial dues and/or entrance fee increase.

  1. Yeah my partner Robbie Franco was murdered in this f*cking place August 22 2018 and the owner of the sex club kept it a secret. I hope this f*cking place sinks to the bowels of hell with the owner and anyone else who might be in it at the time
