Having ticked up 1.5 percent to a revised 109.9 in September, the National Association of Realtors Pending Home Sales Index, for which 100 denotes an average level of activity, eked out a 0.1 percent gain in October to end the month at 110.0.
As such, the index is now 1.8 percent higher than at the same time last year but 4.3 percent below this past April’s reading of 115.0, which was a ten-year high.
And having inched up 0.7 percent last month, the Pending Home Sales Index for the West now measures 108.3, which is 2.5 percent higher versus the same time last year versus 4.7 percent higher on a year-over-year basis last month.
