Amongst the items on the agenda for San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors this afternoon, an appeal of the Planning Commission’s approval to construct four new units at 1268 Lombard Street, a Russian Hill cottage lot with a controversial recent past.

  1. Why does the board of supervisors even have a say in a house going up?
A supervisor represents one district. Why are members of other districts given this power?
Why does a board of renters get to decide what a home builder can do?

  2. Because this is San Francisco Club and the first rule of San Francisco Club is we do not talk about oh wait oops the first rule of San Francisco Club is renters own, owners moan…

  3. “Why does a board of renters get to decide what a home builder can do?”
Why do you feel that renter status precludes one from participating in politics ?

  4. “Why do you feel that renter status precludes one from participating in politics ?”
Yeah, this never makes any sense. Without renters, the people who own the rental properties wouldn’t own them.

  5. The Board of Supervisors should be legislating, not acting as a judicial body using politics to overturn decisions made by better-informed executive bodies like the Planning or Building Commissions. The preservation groups should just let this well-flogged horse go peacefully.

  6. “…better informed executive bodies like the Planning…Commission.”
You must be kidding. Kathrin and Christina are better informed? They are far more political than even the leftist of the lefties on the supes.
