The Hong Kong-based family which owns the Rosewood Sand Hill hotel, a favorite haunt of Silicon Valley venture capitalists and the cougars that hunt them, has been identified as the buyers of the Calistoga Hills Resort property, an 88-acre parcel of land upon which a 110-room luxury hotel, 20 villas and 13 estate homes are approved to be built.
Founded by the daughter of an oil tycoon in Dallas, the Rosewood Hotel Group was sold to a unit of New World China Land, which is controlled by the family of Dr. Cheng Yu-tung, in 2011
