The Local Brewing Co. is circling the 3,500 square foot warehouse space at 69 Bluxome Street, a few doors down from the Bluxome Street Winery between 4th and 5th, with plans to establish a small-batch brewery and tap room within.
While the building isn’t specifically zoned for a brewery, it is zoned for “Light Manufacturing” and San Francisco’s Zoning Administration has give the project a tentative thumbs up as long as their production doesn’t exceed 5,000 barrels a year and no permanent bottling facilities are installed (a mobile setup would be allowed 4 days a year).
Local Brewing for locals, love it! 94107 is becoming like Dublin Ireland with a brewery on everyblock. Local Brewing welcome to the neighborhood, hope it all works out.
That is awesome! As someone who lives on Bluxome I am happy to see this addition to the neighborhood.
Microbrewing is a perfect match for a light industrial space. I hope the approvals go smoothly.
WOW. How specific and picayune do zoning regs get in SF? mobile bottling 4 days per year? Micromanagement.
