A “plugged in” reader reminds us that the San Francisco Planning Department has completed their draft East SoMa Area Development Plan and that they will be holding a community workshop tomorrow (2/13/07) to review and discuss. On the agenda:
• Proposed zoning controls
• Update on the Public Improvements Program
• Building height limits and other urban design issues
• Preliminary affordable housing strategy for the Eastern Neighborhoods
The East SoMa community workshop will be held at the SoMa Recreation Center (270 Sixth Street @ Folsom) from 6:00-8:00pm. And we’ll see you there.

Thanks for the invitation to the workshop. It’s nice to hear about the future plans for the East SOMA area. I understand that the plans call for different uses of Howard and Folsom Streets as well as different zoning for other various parcels.
When is the workshop for the Rincon Hill and Trans Bay Terminal areas?

Thank you for posting this and letting us know this is in the works. We residents really need to be more involved in shaping our neighborhoods. This site is a good place to connect the civic process with the interested public (who probably aren’t looking at the City’s planning site nearly as often — http://www.sfgov.org/site/planning_index.asp )
