Having hit its pandemic driven nadir at the end of last month, when there were nearly 50 percent fewer pending home sales in San Francisco than at the same time last year, the pace of sales has started to rebound. And in fact, new contract activity over the past week was around 10 percent higher on a year-over-year basis.
But the annualized pace of sales is still down with around 30 percent fewer homes currently in contract across the city versus the same time last year.
And with listing activity having recovered over the past two weeks while the pace of sales lags, inventory levels have already returned to a 9-year seasonal high.
