If you’ve already mailed your ballot or cast an early vote, thank you. If not, San Francisco’s Voting Center on the ground floor of City Hall (1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place) and all local polling places will be open on March 5, 2024, from 7am to 8pm.

As always, we’re more concerned with whether you vote versus which way you do, so please #vote. We’ll have the early results for the real estate related measures tomorrow morning.

UPDATE (3/6): Based on an early tally of 104,760 votes, which includes 83,190 vote-by-mail ballots that were returned prior to Election Day along with 21,570 of the ballots which were cast at polling places and together which represent 20.92 percent of the potential votes in San Francisco, here are the preliminary results for the real estate related ballot measures we’re tracking:

Proposition 1 (Amends CA’s Mental Health Services Act): 71% YES / 29% NO
Measure A (Authorizes Affordable Housing Bonds): 68% YES / 32% NO (Requires 66.6% to Pass)
Measure C (Real Estate Transfer Tax Exemption and Office Space Allocation): 54% YES / 46% NO

UPDATE (3/7): With an additional 27,331 ballots having been tallied, for a total of 132,091 out of a possible 500,086, the preliminary results for the real estate related ballot measures we’re tracking have held and are unlikely to change:

Proposition 1 (Amends CA’s Mental Health Services Act): 72% YES / 28% NO
Measure A (Authorizes Affordable Housing Bonds): 68.5% YES / 31.5% NO (Requires 66.6% to Pass)
Measure C (Real Estate Transfer Tax Exemption and Office Space Allocation): 53.9% YES / 46.1% NO
