Currently home to Oakland Technology Exchange West, which has refurbished nearly 40,000 donated computers which were then gifted to low-income East Bay families or sold at a deep discount to local schools and community centers over the past 20 years, plans to convert the West Oakland industrial building at 1680 14th Street into 26 residential units have been submitted to the City for review.
As proposed by Jordan Real Estate Investments, which developed The Hive in downtown Oakland, a floor or two will be added to the 14th Street building and two of the units will be offered at Below Market Rate.
Unless appealed, a public hearing for the project won’t be required and the project could be administratively approved for development by June.
any idea what this means for OTEW?
Seem likely they’ll either become OTEE or RTE (Oakland…East or Richmond…)
more great news in weoak’s continuing transformation 🙂
