Purchased for $740,000 in February 2008 by way of three loans totaling $753,000, over the next four months the interior behind the Mid-Century Modern façade at 10 Sunview Drive dropped its Modern bones in favor of a “contemporary” vibe.
Back on the market and asking $899,000.
∙ Listing: 10 Sunview Drive (3/2) 1,730 sqft – $899,000 [MLS]
The placement of the washer and dryer is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen. So how does someone who’s not 6′ tall reach the buttons or even read them?
^ That is incredibly strange…
I kind of like the interior. It seems like good use of space for these type homes, of which the city has in abundance.
Is the flipper just shooting for a break-even here ?
As for the washer/dryer configuration, I kind of like it because it reduces the amount of stooping required to load/unload the laundry. From the looks of the photo the buttons seem to be within easy reach of someone five feet tall.
I toured the house yesterday. The owner is hardly a flipper. They had planned to stay for a long time but a job transfer is requiring them to sell. It’s quite a high-end remodel. I would imagine it will be bid up.
W/D looks OK to me, but if someone didn’t like it, it’s maybe $250 to change it. Hardly even an issue.
Remodel looks to be nicely done. I might have added more upper kitchen cabinets.
Biggest problems here are street noise from Portola at both the front and back of the house will mean no room is untouched by it and lots of fumes, no dining room, a master on a different floor from the other bedrooms. Small eat in space off the kitchen is hardly a substitute for a dining room.
This is not quite as bad as 104 Funston, but in a similar situation, where location, location, location didn’t used to matter as much as it does now.
The house is the third from the corner, looking at the back of the houses from Portola drive

But the price is right – I’m sure it will sell quickly.

tipster: I know that area well and I think you are seriously exaggerating the impact of the street noise. (It’s actually pretty quiet.) For most buyers this is going to be a non issue.
I took a look at this place this weekend. It’s nice, but as Tipster noted, it is loud and there isn’t really much around in terms of neighborhood.
I like this place
seems very livable for a family (maybe with oldre kids if BRs and Master not on same level) or for singles.
pretty versatile property.
(yard might have to be changed for kids, but o/w seems doable).
has a great work triangle.
although maybe not my style, finishes seem clean and fresh, and a lot can be done with this place based on how you decorate it.
the washer/dryer won’t be that big an issue IMO.
those things are usually sold with a pedestal anyway, and the pedestal is about half the size of that cabinet.
without the pedestal you have to bend over
with the pedestal they are still not overly tall.
I’d guess that on that cabinet it’ll still be easily reachable for an adult.
the only thing is to make sure they are installed correctly especially in case the washing machine leaks, to avoid significant water damage.
I like it, assume there are no views from it
Nicely done, I like it. I’m vertically challenged so I would probably have to lower the W/D, but not a huge deal. I also would have liked to see more cabinetry in the kitchen, but those can be easily added as well. Overall, a nice, clean, bright space. I have a feeling it will go quickly.
Really? Priced to sell quickly- don’t think so. This is not Noe Valley. Yes, it looks nice, but you’re basically on Portolla. This is not a block that people (today) pay $900K for Mid-town terrace home. You’re far from a street car for train.
IMO,the kitchen and bathrooms will be dated in two years.
Been in a few houses up in midtown and they seemed to be pretty nice midcentury houses, kind of mid-level executive. Better than 50’s Sunset dreck, but not as luxe as Forest Hill. And most I think are detached, at least the better ones. Being in the old Sutro Forest, views may not be the greatest. Probably want to be away from Portola though.
Midtown guy, no, it’s not in Noe Valley. If it were in Noe Valley, it would be 1.25 million. No?
Midtown
That price, that house in Noe Valley and my wife and I would buy it today
@1730 feet, a 3/2 in Noe, newly redone, and with those stylings? I’d say 1.35M easy.
[anon.ed], any predictions on the sales price on this one?
Sure. I think they’re close on the price, but that it will probably go a little under. In order to get 900K+ in Midtown Terrace these days I think a big view is in order.
Thanks.
Tipster and fluj seem to be in near agreement. It does happen.
Modern, mid century, new but somehow looks dated already.
10 Sunview went into escrow and also raised the asking price to 950.
Should have known better than to underestimate Mid Century Modern clout.
No “apples” and probably not too much of a surprise, but the sale of 10 Sunview Drive closed escrow today with a reported cotnract price of $950,000, just under $550 per square foot for the down to the studs remodeled Midtown Terrace home.
