99 Surrey

We do like unique, and 99 Surrey is anything but cookie cutter. It’s actually larger than it looks (790 sq.ft.) and the lot is zoned RH-2 for those with a “unique” vision in Glen Park.

UPDATE (6/6): Sold on 5/29/07 for $573,000 (4.3% under asking).

∙ Listing: 99 Surrey (1/1) – $599,000 [MLS]

  1. Wow, that is one cute sliver of a house. Not to mention efficient and attractive interior design!

  2. Really cute outside but kind of blah inside. Would definitely be worth exerting some TLC. That is, if you don’t mind living in a house that is so eyecatching.

  3. This is a great example where the conventional wisdom gets turned up on its ear. You usually focus on location first, because you can’t do anything to change the location.
But here is the exception: if you don’t like the location of this place, just load your house onto a truck and move it somewhere else!
Unfortunately, this would never pass the “my parents came in from out of state and didn’t laugh at me for buying it” test. So I think it isn’t going to fetch that price.
Though it did sell for 640K in 2004. (And may have sold for 500K two months ago? Does that make sense? The property shark info looks pretty messed up.

  4. The Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz comes to mind…how can the inside look so comfortable when the oustide (while cute) looks like you could barely get a chair in the door. Must check out myself.

  5. I drove by this place today. It appears to be a trailer with aluminum siding. The siding has a pretty large dent in it on one side, possibly from a car running into the house. I think it should be priced A LOT lower.
