While we might not share the same taste in décor (or wallpaper), the listing for 1216 Haight Street caught our eye. Believe it or not, it’s not because of the three months on the market and a price reduction of at least $100,000 each month ($500,000 in total), but rather because it boasts a “gourmet kitchen” (and actually seems to mean it).
∙ Listing: 1216 Haight Street (4/3.5) – $1,995,000 [Pacific Union] [MLS]
I know the owners. All the amenities are high quality.

. . . the pictures of the place do not do it justice. It’s true that the decor may not be your taste, but all the wallpaper and built in cabinetry was recently done and everything was done to period detail. It’s truly a beautiful house. You got to see it to believe it.
We believe you. It looks like an amazing renovation. And we definitely appreciate quality (regardless of the decor).
this building does definitely stand out on this block of haight, and it looks like it would be much more comfortable in some other part of the city. i live a half-block away, and frankly, i think anyone who would buy this place is crazy – i wake up almost every night listening to drunk and often homeless people yelling in the park across the street or coming from the weird squat apartment 2 doors down from this house.
maybe they put in soundproof windows as part of all that renovation – but the bottom line is that you are still paying almost 2 mil to live on haight street. no way.
Good source tells me that this house is now in contract for $2,000,000.
