Come on readers, we’re still trying to answer our last reader request, and now we have another:

Do you know anything about a small new development in South Beach called The Shoreline? It’s on Federal. I can’t find a website or who the developer is or anything!”

Anyone have the inside scoop on The Shoreline and care to share? (tips@socketsite.com)

  1. If you go to FirstReleaseHomes.com, they’re the sole featured property. You can see some photos and Adobe documents that include floorplans for all 9 units.
I like the fact that all units are single-level living w/ extra 1/2 bath and decks for the smallest units, while the larger ones have second baths and some have second bedrooms. Not crazy about Federal Street. Uninteresting neighborhood compared to 188 King’s location (though we wonder about getting in and out of the 188 King garage when there’s traffic or worse, ballgames). The Shoreline finishes (what you can see, anyway) look top-notch, creative though potential buyers must really like streamlined contemporary interiors that borders on industrial-chic.
Would love to see more but don’t want to “sign-on” to the requisites required by First Release to do so.
Anyone know anything more about that co. or the Shorline project?

  2. There was a preview showing this past Sunday, but I didn’t have time to go. I dropped by on Tuesday but no one was there except for the construction crew and I couldn’t find a sales office. It doesn’t look even close to habitable yet.

  3. Have they sold out? We tried to go to the preview showing that Sunday, but unless you were carrying a pre-approval letter from a lender, the developer wouldn’t even let you into the construction site to look! The sales agent said that five of the nine had already taken deposits. It looks like a great development, but one of the few in South Beach where you’ll need your car to do most things. That’s a drag.
