While plans to add four floors of residential space over the existing two-story auto garage at 834-838 Divisadero Street have been abandoned, the second floor of the building (838 Divisadero) is slated to become “Che Fico,” a 115-seat Italian restaurant by David Nayfeld and Matt Brewer.
And the first floor space, 834 Divisadero, has been leased to the Boba Guys and the application to start converting the space into a boba tea cafe has just been filed with the City.
Lost opportunity. So sad.
Boba tea? Really? And why put an Italian restaurant right next door to Little Star? Upstairs no less. What a waste of prime real estate.
and Ragazza only a few blocks down the street…
Flour & Water, Delfina, Ragazza, A16, Gialina, etc., etc., etc. SF seems to have a bottomless demand for rustic Italian food.
Yes. It was important to prevent the construction of “luxury” housing for the 1% so we can make room for high-end Boba tea and italian food… for the 1%.
You really have no clue what the “1%” is.
The last time I was inside that building it was to see Keith Hennessy do one of his naked dance performances. It must’ve been sometime in the mid 1990’s.
oops….off by one doorway. The storefront art space is 848 Divisidero.
