Purchased for $2.35 million after we featured it in 2008, the designer remodeled two-bedroom penthouse #708 atop 255 Berry, which features a wood-paneled ceiling, walls and wide plank floors, returned to the market in the year of the Black Water Dragon (2012) listed for $2.6888 million.
Also offered for rent at $7,000 per month at the time, the unit was withdrawn from the market without a reported sale. And today, 255 Berry Street #708 is back on the market and priced at $3.195 million with possession at close of escrow.
UPDATE: The list price for 255 Berry Street #708 has just been reduced $200,000 (6 percent), now asking $2,995,000 or $1,302 per square foot.
UPDATE: The sale of 255 Berry Street #708 has closed escrow with a reported contract price of $3.125 million, which is 2 percent under its original list price but officially “over asking!” according to all industry reports thanks to the reduction referenced above.
