Picked up for $2,105,000 in 2002, it’s probably not going too far out on a limb to say the list price of $2,275,000 for 364 Fair Oaks today is rather fair and priced to attract attention at $595 per square.

  1. I expect the seller to get their asking price here. I love that MBR though would eliminate those bulky curtains.

  2. Beautiful home. But it seems to be a bit schizophrenic. I think they should have chosen one style and stuck with it. You never know what you’re going to find when you go from picture to picture.

  3. Oh noes, the Mission! Shouldn’t be long before people start commenting that the porch will be a gang bloodbath.

  4. My favorite street and I love the house. In this area Noe Valley (according to the map) extends all the way to the east side of Guerrero.

  5. this is Missioe. or is it Noeission? this is a stable norteno area – no gang wars in this area.
can someone say more wood? and is it really dark enough?

  6. The only time Nortenos are on this street is when they take their kids trick or treating on it at Halloween.

  7. Wow, what a great place. This is a great block, there is an all girls Catholic school on the corner, so traffic is busy at drop off and pick up times, but other than that, it is about as good as it gets, for being up the hill out of The Mission, but close to BART.
The weather is a bit sunnier than most of Noe Valley as well and the street is full of great houses like this one.

  8. This place is pretty stunning. Great location, great kitchen, great bath fixtures, AMAZING woodwork… once the mismash of bad furniture is out, update the lighting and change paint colors this place is nearly perfect. (2 car parking and it would actaully be perfect.)
    come-on superlotto!

  9. Wow – this is a spectacular house! All these comments about the furniture miss the point: the focus should on the house which is amazing! Love the location (great weather for SF, convenient for Noe Valley, the Mission and access to the freeways), the house’s beautiful garden and delightful overlooking terrace, and its beautiful arts-and-crafts detail that has so much charm! How unusual to find a house that is both elegant and warm/comfy! It definitely will go for over the asking price!

  10. This is a very nice street. Just don’t walk more than a few blocks to the east after dark or you will be in gangsta-ville. But that wouldn’t stop me from living here. At this price-point, however, I think most people wouldn’t want to live where you can hear gunshots not infrequently.

  11. Great Looking House
    Good Bones
    Great Central Location
    Amazing Sunny Neighborhood
    Easy access to public transportation,
and irregardless of what others seem to believe as unsafe.
The fact is I choose to live in San Francisco, there are options to live in the more quiet neighborhoods of suburbia.
People get mugged in Pacific Heights.
And I wouldn’t trade San Francisco for the Burbs!
And Yes I would buy this house…

  12. @ A.T. I don’t know where you live, but I live a block from this house and do not hear gunshots ever. It’s very safe. I walk up from the 24th/Mission BART station to and from work and never feel unsafe. That being said I probably wouldn’t want to hang out around the BART station after midnight, but Fair Oaks? No problem whatsoever.

  13. Thank you Dolores Guerrero. My experience too. It’s amazing how much the Mission get’s bashed, even the “nicer” corners of it. (btw, is that your real name or your drag name? 🙂 )

  14. You all have good soundproofing!
As I noted, I think this is a very nice street. We have friends on Chattanooga, a couple blocks further away from the gang problems around Mission and 24th, and I’ve heard gunshots from their place and they readily admit they hear them once in a while. And my wife worked at St. Luke’s for several years just a few blocks from here and saw and heard her share of violence. This is not a personal dig or a claim that this specific area is dangerous. But you just need to look at crime maps to see that gun violence a few blocks to the east is not all that uncommon. It’s just latino gang members shooting at one another, so it is not a real cause for concern among others, particularly over in Noe. I’m not bashing, just providing facts. There is a huge difference between, say, Church and Mission, and Fair Oaks is on the right side of the ugly line, but it is not that far from it.

  15. Fair oaks is definitely in the hood. I’ve had cars broken into 5 times in the neighborhood. Live right down the block. But, it’s cool being in the Mission! Great bars.
