As we first reported in 2008 with respect to the penthouse at 1254 Washington Street:
Third Eye Blind front man Stephen Jenkins’ successfully sold his Pacific Heights mini-manse in 2005. And if our plugged-in tipster is correct, perhaps Third Eye Blind’s ex-bassist should have followed suit as his “European Style Nob Hill Penthouse” is now on the market and in “Preforeclosure” (rumor has it a bankruptcy might be involved).
And while the views are spectacular, it takes four flights of stairs to reach them, parking is leased one block away, and let’s just say the conspicuous lack of interior photography wasn’t simply an oversight (and perhaps the result of really living like a rockstar).
The three-bedroom condo “in need of some serious TLC” ended up selling for $955,000.
Having since been completely remodeled and now sporting Viking, Miele, Thermador, and Dacor appliances in the open kitchen, and rather big views from the adjacent private deck, 1254 Washington Street is once again on the market and listed for $1,149,000.

The real question on this one is; Did the editor need to google 3rd Eye Blind songs to come up with the heading or is he a huge fan and was playing them on his ipod this morning anyway?
[Editor’s Note: No Googling necessary (nor currently on the iPod).]
I assume that the red section of deck is for exclusive use and the brown is for the rest of the building? If so, even if there is a gate, the unit is not too private. If people want to go up to the roof deck late at night, the noise may be very annoying.
@PPC: somehow, with a view like that, I’d get over it.
Unless the listing’s been updated since I last looked, there’s no elevator in the building, making this a 5-floor walk-up?
I agree somewhat Rocco. I sold my last condo that had a better view than this unit to buy a SFH. More room and private (less nosy neighbors), but I do miss the view. In this case, in my opinion, I wouldn’t be into sharing the deck. Been on the market for awhile, probably because of the walk-up, rather than the “shared” deck though.
Did the photographer put a light in the bathtub?
dude, the reason it’s been on the market for a while is that it’s got $1109/month in dues and $340/month in leased parking. yuck.
The sale of 1254 Washington has closed escrow with a reported contract price of $1,175,000.
