Unfortunately it’s currently in contract, but as a plugged-in tipster writes about Royal Towers (1750 Taylor) unit #203:
…I have never seen a unit in this building remodeled this way. The exposed concrete is an interesting and cool touch. Not to mention the finishes look extremely custom and expensive.
Not for everyone, but the views sure are. Hard to believe it is only on the second floor.
With that we’ll agree (all in a good way). And while it is in contract, it is contingent. We’ll keep you posted and plugged-in.
UPDATE: Ask, and ye shall receive. A plugged-in tipster forwards the following:
The unit was done by Louise Mann with a lot of input from the owner who has her design license. Louise usually works with her husband, Ron Mann, but this specific job was more Louise’s. Regardless of the exact auteurship, if you go to their web site you’ll see that the apartment at 1750 Taylor is pretty representative of their general style.
Also noted, the sale is expected to close escrow this week.
pretty pretty pretty good. i’ll take two!
Nice looking, but having spent grad school in a cinder block apartment, hitting various appendages against concrete at unexpected moments of maximum clumsy(tm) really hurts…
Unless of course one has a fetish for such things at which point this is a dream house…
One of the nicest units I’ve seen in quite a while. What is really nice is that the way the exposed concrete has been done it is warm looking rather than cold. Very well done.
Anyone know who did the interior design work? Not quite my personal style, but beautifully and imaginatively done. Impeccable detailing. A reminder – if needed – about what interior design can do to totally transform a space.
Although the interior designer clearly has talent, this has got to be one of the most hideous buildings on lower Russian Hill. Note that there are no pictures whatsoever of the building itself – check out google maps or mapjack for the ugly truth.
I also would like to know who did the interior design. Very creative.

Also noted, the sale is expected to close escrow this week. Cheers.
Would love to see the interior in person. From photos it’s difficult to see if it gives off a natural/neutral feel or hideously prisony like so many of the redesigns I have seen.
Here we have a new pillow staging trend : the slop-chop. Kind if like Jimmy Fallon’s bed head hairstyle.
I like how the design makes use of those huge plate glass windows that go all the way to the floor. They managed to pull it off without even a hint of the corporate office building look.
If that’s a prison, what crime do I have to commit to serve my sentence in these cells?
Lovely.
I can’t believe no one has posted a detailed computation of monthly cost to live in this place. Or linked to 2 bedroom rentals in Russian Hill– e.g. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/apa/1500521559.html
which could be rented for just a little more the monthly HOAs on 1750 Taylor.
How could this place be in escrow? Didn’t the buyer use a rent vs buy calculator?
(Lol!)
I’m actually not a fan of the interior at all, but the place has nice views. Looks sort of dingy, cold, sterile — but very detailed and thought out nonetheless, even though it doesn’t suit me at all.
good one dan, like your style.
I normally don’t like exposed concrete, but this place is an exception. And the windows are awesome.
The TV den, however, feels a bit too lounge-y for my taste.
Bravo Louise Mann! Simply… Bravo! (or is it Brava?)
One question though… was this featured on SS while it was available or is this just another “too late” posting? I’m getting tired living at the Le Meridein.
What a grey apartment. If not for the views, little better than a grim, plain, simple if large cell.
I noticed how gorgeous this place was when I bought my kid some binoculars one year, we were star searching and noticed that unit all lit up. It’s a gem even from 4 blocks away!
The sale of 1750 Taylor #203 closed escrow yesterday with a reported contract price of $2,175,000.
