1333 Jones #705

Like we need to tell you we’re suckers for floor to ceiling windows and big views. And while the bathroom isn’t doing it for us, we do like the two car parking and wide plank floors (not to mention a few of the larger paintings).

∙ Listing: 1333 Jones #705 (2/2) – $2,495,000 [MLS]

  1. What’s $1340 a month in HOA fee on top of your $14,000 per month mortgage and $2600 per month tax bill?

  2. Having actually been inside The Comstock, I can safely say that the views up there put The Infinity and OneRincon to shame.

  3. Have to agree regarding the Comstock. I never really noticed the building until an invitation to a client’s party there. What a view! The only other building with perhaps superior views is 999 Green. For the full-service Nob Hill atmosphere with porte cochere and doormen, the Comstock is what high rise living should be. Reminds me a lot of buildings on Wilshire and Lake Shore Drive and the building that Buffy, Jody, Mr. French and Uncle Bill lived in. (Family Affair, T.V. show I watched as a child on re-runs)

  4. The only problem, Morgan, is that a lot of those 2/2 condos on Lake Shore Drive sell for under $500k. I was looking at a 1000 sq. ft 1 bedroom in a new tower on LSD for $400k.

  5. I agree RG, and am very familiar with Chicago as I do work there myself. I posted a while back about 900-910 Lake Shore Drive, which are the Meis towers about two blocks from the Hancock bldg. Here you have an international architectural landmark building, where there was a 2/2 condo with two parking spaces for 390,000 with views up the shore and down towards Michigan Ave. This might be why one sees so many California license plates and SF parking stickers when going around Chicago. RG, are you not an architect, like myself, also?

  6. Morgan, I am an architect too! I agree with you about the Mies buildings – I would love to live there, not only because I’m an architect, but because the views over Chicago often BEAT any view that you could get in SF (granted, 1333 Jones has better views, but also rare SF views – only a select few get to live on the north side of SF). Also noteworthy is the fact that many of those Chicago condos are well more than 1000 s.f. – something that many HOUSES in SF can’t say.
