  1. There are chain stores in the inner Sunset already, including a Starbucks. The objection was that this was a bakery in the vicinity of another bakery.

  2. AWESOME! as a home owner in the area, I am thrilled with the new restaurants and shops coming to Irving St corridor.

  3. According to Paolo Lucchesi’s San Francisco Chronicle “Inside Scoop” blog/column, La Boulange sold to Starbucks for $100 million:

Next World Group…today announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to sell La Boulange Café & Bakery to Starbucks Coffee Company for $100 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2012

Watch out now! All those newly-minted millionaire La Boulange pâtissieres are going to start bidding up the price of Noe Valley single family homes and South Beach lofts.
Buy now before the La Boulange/Starbucks transaction closes or be priced out forever!

  4. Brahma: Please tell me your post is a joke. I love La Boulange; please don’t let Starbucks eff it up!!!
